Little Miss Kerr County Fair Court

Rules & Qualifications

 

1.      Contestants must be residents of Kerr County.  Contestants may attend any public or private school as long as their primary residence is in Kerr County.

 

1.      Contestants must be female.

 

2.      Contestants must be enrolled in third grade at any accredited public or private school

 

3.      Proof of age will be required.  This is accomplished by submitting the contestant’s last report card with application and photo.

 

4.      Any contestant who may be related to any KCFA Board Member will not be allowed to enter the Pageant, unless said Board member agrees to be absent from the Board Room during discussion of Pageant and Court business.  Said Board Member may not vote on any matter that concerns the Pageant or Court.

 

5.      There will be no refund of either the application fee or sponsorship money collected should a contestant willingly withdraw.

 

6.      All applications are subject to acceptance by KCFA Board Members by a majority vote of the members present.  No explanation will be given to the prospective contestant, if denied.  All Board decisions are final.  Should an application be denied, your photo and any fees collected will be returned.

 

7.      With the exception of local service organizations or school functions, Court members may not hold any other title or enter any other Pageant (unless sanctioned by the KCFA Board).

 

8.      Contestants will provide a black and white 5”X7” picture of themselves to accompany the application fee of $10.00.  This photo will be judged for most photogenic, photos will be returned after the pageant.

 

9.      Contestants will provide sponsorship money of $75.00.  This money can come from one or more sources.  All sponsorship money and contestant entry fee must be paid by the deadline of October 113, 2008.

 

10. Contestants will be required to attend pageant rehearsals. All practices will take place at the Hill Country Youth Exhibition Center, unless otherwise specified.

A.    Pageant competition will consist of the contestant coming on the stage, while her biography is being read she will parade up and down the stage.  After all of the contestant’s biographies have been read, the contestant will be asked to draw a question that they will answer.  The question will be simple, such as “What is your favorite color and why?”.

 

11. Contestants will participate in the KCFA Fair Parade, on the day of the pageant.  Parade entries may be anything the contestant wants as long as it is in good taste.  Pageant judges will judge parade entries; top score will receive an award at the Pageant.

 

12. Contestants are financially responsible for their own wardrobe.  This includes the pageant and the Little Miss Court if chosen

 

13. The Little Miss Court Members agree to participate in parades, attend civic functions, have fundraisers, and attend scheduled meetings. 

 

14.  Parents of Little Miss Court Members will be required to escort, and maintain responsibility for their daughter at area activities.  Little Miss Court Members will be allowed to attend functions that the Queen’s Court attends, with in a 30-mile radius.  Those activities include, but are not limited to the following; Kerrville, Bandera, Comfort, Center Point, and Fredericksburg activities.

 

15. Any Little Miss Court member who refuses to listen and follow instructions of the court sponsor or Queen’s Court members will be asked to relinquish her crown, title and any awards received.  One warning will be given to parents regarding these actions.

 

16. Events occur after the coronation that must be attended by members of both the newly crowned court and the preceding court.  Members of each court agree to participate in the events of the succeeding year, those events include the pageant and Kerr County Fair activities.

 

17. KCFA appoints a sponsor(s) for the reign of the Little Miss Court.  This sponsor(s) is also in charge of the Little Miss Kerr County Pageant and will serve as Pageant Coordinator.  The Sponsor(s) is responsible for your representation of Kerr County; there fore decisions concerning proper action is under the control of the sponsor(s).

 

18. Every parent wants their child to be the best that they can be.  Decision of the judges is final.  Judges will be instructed not to be influenced by applause or demonstrations for any one contestant, they are also not to be influenced by outward beauty, size or nationality.

 

19. The KCFA accepts no responsibility for any personal injuries while at any KCFA function.  The below signature holds as an agreement to the Rules and Qualifications for the Kerr County Fair Association’s Little Miss Kerr County Pageant and hereby waive, release, or discharge any and all claims of injuries to my person, including death, to KCFA and/or any Board Member.
