Scholarship Pageant

The Kerr Coun
Rules & Qualifications
Contestants must be
residents of Kerr County. Contestants
may attend any public, private, or home school, as long as their primary
residence is in Kerr County.
Contestants must be female
Contestants must be
currently enrolled in grades 9, 10, or 11 at any accredited public, private, or
home school.
Contestants must be
single, have never been married, and reside with a parent or legal guardian.
Contestants must not
have, nor never have had a child and they must not be pregnant.
Contestants must have a
passing grade-point average in order to enter the pageant. Verification is
required.
Contestants will provide
a photo of themselves. This photo will
be judged for most photogenic.
Contestants will provide
an application fee of $10.00, non refundable if contestant willingly
withdraws from the competition.
Contestants will provide
sponsorship money of at least $200.00, non refundable if contestant
willingly withdraws from the competition. This money can come from one or more
source. Contestant receiving the most
sponsorship dollars will receive an additional award.
Application fee,
sponsorship money, and essay are due by the deadline as listed on schedule of
events.
Each contestant must
submit, in writing or typed, an essay of at least 75
words with their application. This essay
should state what they think being a member of the queens court means to them,
why they would make a good court member and why they want to serve as a member
of the KCFA Queens Court.
Each contestant shall
meet with each of the judges for an interviewed before the pageant.
Contestants will participate in the Kerr County Fair Parade.
Contestants are required
to wear formal attire for the evening gown competition.
Contestants are financially
responsible for their own wardrobe. This includes the pageant and official Kerr
County Fair Court wardrobe if chosen as a court member.
Complete rules and
qualifications will be mailed upon request.
All applications are
subject to acceptance by Kerr County Fair Association Board by a majority vote
of members present. No explanation will be given to the prospective contestant,
if denied. All Board decisions are final. Should an application be denied,
photos and fees submitted will be returned.
Any contestant or Kerr
County Fair Court member who refuses to follow the general rules and guidelines
and/or instructions by Fair court sponsors will be asked to relinquish her
crown, title, and any awards received.
Any Court member who has
more than three (3) unexcused absents from regularly scheduled activities will
be subject to dismissal and must relinquish crown, title, and any awards
received.
Contestants must be residents
of Kerr County. Contestants may attend

in third grade at any accredited public, private or home school.
Proof of age will be
required. This is accomplished by submitting
the contestants last report card with application and photo.
There will be no refund of
either the application fee or sponsorship money collected should a contestant
willingly withdraw.
All applications are subject
to acceptance by Kerr County Fair Association Board members by a majority vote
of the members present. No explanation
will be given to the prospective contestant, if denied. All Board decisions are final. Should an application be denied, your photo
and any fees collected will be returned.

Pageant competition will consist of the contestant coming on the
stage, while her biography is being read she will stroll up and down the
stage. After the contestants biography
is read, the contestant will be asked to draw a question that they will
answer. The question will be simple,
such as What is your favorite color and why?
Contestants will participate
in the Kerr County Fair Parade.
Contestants are financially
responsible for their own wardrobe. This
includes the pageant and the Little Miss Court if chosen
The Little Miss Court Members
agree to participate in parades, attend civic functions, have fundraisers, and
attend scheduled meetings.
Parents of Little Miss Court
Members will be required to escort, and maintain responsibility for their
daughters at area activities. Little
Miss Court Members will be allowed to attend functions that the Queens Court
attends, in a 30-mile radius. Those
activities include, but are not limited to the following; Kerrville, Bandera,
Comfort, Center Point, and Fredericksburg activities.
Any Little Miss Court member
who does not follow the guideline and/or instructions of the court sponsor or
Queens Court members will be asked to relinquish her crown, title and any
awards received. One warning will be
given to parents regarding these actions.
Every parent wants their
child to be the best that they can be.
Decision of the judges is final.
Judges will be instructed not to be influenced by applause or
demonstrations for any one contestant, they are also not to be influenced by
outward beauty, size or nationality.
Winners of Kerr County Fair
Little Miss will receive their awards at the end of their reign. The awards will be as follows: Kerr County Fair Little Miss will receive a
$200 savings bond, Kerr County Fair Little Princess will receive a $100 savings
bond, Kerr County Fair Little Duchess will receive at
$50 savings bond.
