COLORING CONTEST

 

1.  Residents of Kerr, Bandera, Real, Edwards, Kimble, Gillespie, and Kendall counties may enter.

 

2.  Select a picture from the coloring book provided by Kerr County Fair Association (830) 257-6833 or email:  kcfa@ktc.com – may also be picked up at UPS Store – 317 Sidney Baker South.

 

3.  No watercolor, acrylics,, markers, highlighters, etc. will be accepted.

 

4.  Name, age/grade, and school should be on back of entry.

 

5.  Entries will be accepted Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Hill Country Youth Exhibit Center. Teachers are encouraged to use this as a class project.

 

6.  Entries will be displayed in age/grade category grouping and remain on display throughout the Fair for public viewing.

 

7.  All entries will receive an award.

 

8. Entries must be removed Sunday, October 26, 2008      from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

 

10. Unclaimed entries will not be stored after the Fair.

SHOEBOX PARADE

 

1.  Residents of Kerr, Bandera, Real, Edwards, Kimble, Gillespie, and Kendall counties may enter.

 

2.  Any size shoebox may decorated as a parade float.

 

3.  Any combination of materials may be used to decorate the float, as long as it is used in a safe manner. This can be an individual, group, or family activity.

 

4.  Shoebox float may be carried or pulled during parade.

 

5. Entries will be accepted Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Hill Country Youth Exhibit Center. Teachers are encouraged to use this as a class project. 

 

6.  Entries received on Thursday will be displayed in exhibit hall during Fair for public viewing.

 

6. Shoebox float parade will begin at 3:30 p.m..  Parade route will be on Fairgrounds. Vendors, exhibitors, and visitors are invited to attend parade.

 

7.  All entries will receive an award.

DOGGIE DOG SHOW

 

1.  Preschool through Grade 12 residents of Kerr, Bandera, Real, Edwards, Kimble, Gillespie, and Kendall counties may enter. 

 

2.  All dogs must be leashed and kept on leashes during the entire time they are on the Fairgrounds. All exhibitors’ are responsible for control of their dog and must accept responsibility for any damages, animal waste, and injuries.

 

3.  Each exhibitor is limited to three classes.

 

4.  Dog must be owned by exhibitor or exhibitors’ family.

 

5.  Registration at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2008. 

 

6. Judging will begin at 2:00 p.m. Judges decisions are final.

PETTING ZOO

 

Over 65 tame and exotic animals, including; llamas, camels, zebras, baby potbelly pigs, wallabies, deer, African animals, several types of exotic cattle, rare sheep and goats. Smaller animals include ducks, chickens, rabbits, and turtles.

 

Hands on experience. All animals are hand raised and extremely gentle. Always lots of newborn bottle babies. USDA approved and certified.
